MAPFRE has taken effective control of the Indonesian insurer ABDA, after obtaining authorization from the regulatory bodies for the acquisition of an additional 31 percent stake in this company, thereby achieving a controlling interest in the company with 51 percent ownership.
The operation closed at a price of 90 million euros and enables MAPFRE to increase its presence in Southeast Asia, positioning itself in a market with tremendous potential.
